Sexting Facts

Sexting is sending sexually explicit messages or photos by mobile phone, or posting on social networking sites like Facebook or Myspace. This infographis presents you information found in a recent study conducted by Recombu into sexting habits among mobile phone user in the UK.

While 48% of women are found to have sent a sext to a partner, 48% of men have sent a sext to a partner. In the UK, 25% of men and 16% of women have sent a sext to someone who is not a partner. On the other hand, 16% of men and 8% of men found to have accidentally sent a sext to a family member.

One in 20 women and one in 10 men have accidentally sent a sext to their partner but it was meant for someone else. While 18% of men and 12% of women deleted sexts from their mobiles so as not to get caught. One in 10 men and women have given number to someone they’ve flirted with when they have a partner.

Interestingly, 80% of people pay attention to the number of ‘X’s at the end of a text. However, 14% of women and 13% of men get upset when found a message from the opposite sex with an ‘x’ at the end. And 12% of men and women found it easier to send a sext than to express it in person.
