During Obama’s term as the President, USA has seen the introduction of preventive services for women.

What are they? Annual wellness checks, Screening for gestational diabetes, HPV and HIV. Apart from these, counseling services for effective contraceptive methods,  HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases will also be offered.

Efforts to curb domestic violence are also being stepped up by providing counseling to those women affected by it. The services also offer breast feeding support, supplies and counseling.

These services are being provided because of 52% women reporting delayed medical aid due to high costs involved. About 32% women reported that they have had to cut out on other basic necessities to pay for health care expenses.
