Mediterranean diet is considered the best of all diets.

In this type of diet user of butter is replaced by olive oil. Fish and lean meat are consumed twice in a week and red meat consumption is limited to once a month. Use of salt is very minimal. Instead herbs and spices are used to give flavor and taste to the food.

All meals are consumed with red wine and all breads are prepared from whole grains. Fruit, veggies and nuts are used in abundance.
