In present days, more teens are engaged in various activities that include video chatting, uploading videos, streaming videos and recording. When surveyed by a Pew research center, more than 800 teens aged about 12- 17, 95% said they use internet out of which 37% use internet for video chat, 27% upload and record different videos and 13% stream and share live videos.

Survey forecasts that more percentage of 42% girls and 33% boys prefer video chat. Irrespective of the race or ethnicity teens involve in streaming online videos and video chats. It is determined that teens aged between 14 -17 are more likely to be involved in online videos when compared to teens of 12 years old.

Teens form high income families mostly use video chat and they are least bothered about recording or streaming online videos. More than 80% of teens using internet have an account in any of the social networking sites.
