With the population of 1,305,946, Memphis in Tennessee State has 1,006 women victims per 100,000 in violent crimes and 46 women in rape. If it has the highest rate of violent crimes, Fairbanks in Alaska has the highest rate of rape of 193 per 100,000 people. Not far behind from Memphis in violent crimes are Saginaw and Springfield with 870 and 856, respectively.

It is not only the Alaskan City of Fairbanks which is unsafe for women but also Detroit, the largest city of Michigan, has reported 274 cases of rape within the first four months of this year. Anchorage, another Alaskan city, has more than 85 incidences of rape per 100,000. According to a survey that was held in 2011, 37% or more of Alaskan women stated that in their lives they have suffered from some form of sexual assault.
