
Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) is where the upper chambers of heart beat irregularly. Hence it allows the blood to slow down and pool which in turn increases the risk of stroke. Having said this, learn to identify the signs of strokes. These are:
- Dizziness, loss of balance
- Sudden and severe headache
- Sudden visual impairment in one or both eyes
- Trouble in speaking and understanding
There are things you can do to avoid strokes. (1) Go for regular checkups and (2) follow the treatment plan prescribed by your doctor if you are at risk.
Did you know that 15-20% of all strokes can be credited to AFib. And when asked what AFib patients think about strokes, 50% said they are at risk. And their greatest concern is Heart attack which 42% said.
